After nearly ten years of work (most of it in the last six months) the “Man Cave” is ready for me to use.

When we moved out to the farm there was a 24′ x 24′ storage shed on the property. I’ve always wanted a shop (for both working on cars and doing woodworking projects) and I figured that was a good place to start, so in 2006 we poured a concrete pad in place of the gravel floor. It wasn’t until last year that we were able to do more to it, and when I say “we” I mainly mean Jake, my neighbor, who I paid to do most of the work (although I got the ball rolling by painting the floor with an epoxy coating).

I cleaned it out, and we installed a window heat pump to both warm and cool the place. We then hung drywall on the ceiling, sprayed insulation, added an attic fan, added some windows, insulated and drywalled the interior, painted it and hung six eight foot light fixtures. I also ran 100 amp service down to the shed as well as phone and network cables.

This weekend I cleaned up the paint overspray on the floor, both on my knees with a brush and with a power washer, and today I was ready to start moving stuff back into it.

All that work might explain why I dropped below 192:

I am pretty certain I weighed 192 when I got married, so since I was getting dressed up I figured I’d put on the same suit and tie I got married in:

Still fits, although I switched into something a little more formal:

I’ve been studying classical guitar for a year now, and tonight my instructor was holding a concert for Albert Rodriguez Martí from Spain. We decided to get all up in our “black tie” for the event (which I was almost late for as tying that damn bow tie is a bitch).
