Sheesh, its been months since I’ve touched this blog. It hasn’t been for a lack of fun stuff happening, although most of my ranting has been confined to my work blog.

I hope to be able to update more often if the promise of broadband to my house in the form of DSL is ever realized.

A few month ago a neighbor circulated a petition to get Embarq, our local phone company, to provide DSL to our area. Enough people signed it and we were promised service at the end of May.

Didn’t happen.

Andrea and I spent a couple of weeks in Hawaii and when we returned no DSL. The day I dropped a note to the person who initiated the petition, I came home to find an Embarq flier on the mailbox stating that DSL would be available at the end of last week.

Didn’t happen.

There was a bit of hope when last Friday instead of “Not Available In Your Area” I got to another screen with an “Add to Cart” button. But there were no products to choose from. I made a call to Embarq and they promised to call back, but that didn’t happen either.

Now their little tester is broken:

and I still don’t have DSL. But if it ever does show up to complete my life, I’ll be sure to blog more often, and I hope get the Hawaii pictures uploaded.
