Eat To Live – Week 10

This morning’s 3PS weight was 189.0.

Starting weight: 224.8
Current weight: 189.0
Total lost: 35.8
Last weight: 192.6
1 week difference: -3.6

According to my handy BMI calculator, this puts my BMI at 24.6, which is in the high range of normal vs. the high range of overweight when I got started.

Go me.

I wasn’t surprised by this morning’s weigh-in. If anything I was a little disappointed because I actually felt lighter, so even without a scale I knew I had lost weight – I just didn’t know how much and I thought it might have been closer to five pounds than four. Part of it could be that on the flights home I had two meals and we went out for dinner with friends, but I was able to make the right choices to insure those meals didn’t impact me too much.

Last Saturday’s junk food binge probably didn’t help any, but even though I was on the road I managed to recover and get back on track. I did this by eating right and doing a lot of walking (at least two and up to five miles a day).

One experience that really gave me hope was a meal at the Millennium Restaurant in San Francisco. This was haute cuisine vegan-style, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a restaurant (my friend Geoff, who was supposed to join me, couldn’t make it so I ate alone, and all of the very best meals I’ve had in restaurants involved good company).

On a whim I decided to try on my high school class ring:

Still fits, or should I say, fits again.

Well, I’m out of goals for the next couple of weeks. I’d like to break 184.8 to mark a forty pound weight loss and 180 to get to my target weight, but I’m still on track to do that before Easter (at three pounds per week I should be there in four).
