Time for my weekly weigh-in. This one happened a little late because I was at the office this morning until 5:30 so I slept in a little.
This morning’s 3PS weight was 196.2.
Starting weight: 224.8
Current weight: 196.2
Total lost: 28.6
Last weight: 201.6
1 week difference: -5.4
Now I think the 1 week difference is a little misleading, as last week I only lost about a pound but the next day I was down two, so I think the trend is 3 pounds a week. But as my friend Martin would say, I’ve lost two stone and that’s something to be happy about.
Which is exciting for a number of reasons. I have five more goals to reach, and I should hit one if not two in the next week:
194.8 – Losing 30 pounds. Something about the “thirty” number is psychologically pleasing.
192.0 – I remember that I weighed around 192 back in 1993 when I got married. I might even try on the suit I wore to my wedding.
189.8 – Anything less than 190 and I am officially in the “normal” range for BMI. Plus this would mark 35 pounds lost.
184.8 – Losing 40 pounds.
179.8 – Losing 45 pounds and hitting my target weight.
The only downside so far is that I’m starting to view this as a competition. I’d like to hit my target weight by Easter, which is about 10 weeks away, and I should be able to do this with no problem.
But I want to get there sooner.
To that end I’ve added some exercise to my regime. I walk from the office down to the courthouse each day, which is over 2 miles round trip. Yesterday I walked to lunch at Angelina’s Kitchen which is about a 3 mile round trip. It was also the first time I’ve eaten lunch in a restaurant in awhile (they serve healthy food).
But I ended up working late last night, and since I’ve started to view this as a competition I was thinking “why don’t I just not eat?” That way lies madness (since I want to lose weight by being healthier not by starving myself) so I ordered Chinese vegetable stir fry.
