I’m in Frankfurt this week. I need to get to bed soon, so this will be a quick post.
I flew from Raleigh (RDU) to Gatwick (LGW) and then had to take a bus to Heathrow (LHR) for my flight here (FRA). It was Rememberance Day (Veteran’s Day) in the UK so everyone was wearing poppies. I mean everyone. There was even two minutes of silence throughout the airport at 11am (why 11am and not noon I am not sure). It’s weird, in the US I think of Veteran’s Day as a day that the mail doesn’t run. I guess the memories of war are stronger in a country that was much more greatly affected by it.
