Okay, so the last few summers have been very, very dry. I’ve sat and watched my fields turn brown.
This year it isn’t like that.
Not that I’m complaining, but we’ve had a lot of rain lately. While the house is on high ground, well, high enough so I don’t worry, there has been some amazing flooding.
This is a picture of the road to the office. The little land bridge crosses between two ponds, and there is a pipe joining the two together that runs under the road.
It obviously wasn’t enough to keep up.
The distance from the road to the usual top of the pond on the left is six to eight feet, so there is a lot of runoff pooling down toward the building. We’re lucky it crosses the road and then has a lot to fill before the building would be in danger.
Still better than drought, however.
