At Blast we are a big Apple shop. Well, the other day they were throwing out (gasp) a number of items that either didn’t work or didn’t work well enough, and one of them was an original Macintosh.

So it followed me home, and I cleaned it up and put it on my desk. It has been upgraded to a Macintosh Plus some time in the past, which gave it 1 MB of RAM (wow) and an external SCSI connection, which in this case is connected to a 20 MB hard drive.

I’m not sure what I will do with it, other than have it as a conversation piece, but I did discover a whole
sub-culture around the old Mac. It was my first WYSIWYG machine, and I typed a ton of term papers on it (I still have them – from 1986).
