A rather grisly scene has greeted me upon my arrival home these last three days.
I go to let the dog out, and in her water dish I find two lizards, one alive, and one dead. They are Anoles, or American Chameleons, and they are pretty common around here.
But why are they in the the water dish, and why is one always alive and one always dead? I think I have a lizard hit-man on my hands.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good shot of him on my hand.
I do, however, have a growing collection of dead lizards.
I’m not sure what is going on. It has been quite dry lately, so maybe they are looking for water. Or, they could be fighting on top of the dog house and just fall in. I think I am going to have to find some sort of little plastic ladder to help these guys get out – should I find more.
