Okay, I am finally getting ready to clean out the attic.
For a place we’ve lived for almost five years, it’s not too cluttered, but I’ve decided to have a big eBay-fest for all of my, now, classic computer parts.
Part of this was spurred on by my Dad finding some old TRS-80 software of mine. Yes, I had a computer when I was 12, in 1978. I dug up this picture from my high school yearbook (a few years later in 1981).
The funny thing is, the TRS-80 software was the only thing that didn’t sell. So I did some googling and found Ira’s site , and sent the tapes to him. Don’t want the bits to die.
I still miss the TRS-80, and a few years ago I even bid on a couple (unlike old PCs , classics like the TRS-80 are expensive, $400 or more in some cases). But since part of the big clean-up is to simplify my life, I think the Mac Plus I have will have to serve as my antique computer. I’ve ordered new memory and a new power supply, and I should have the thing on the Internet in the next month (grin).
Maybe it’s that anal-retentive part of me, but I hate having things around me that don’t work perfectly. I am working on it, though, as living on the farm has taught me that you can’t have everything perfect. So I figure if I get down to just a few things, then mebbe I’ll have a better shot at it.
