I didn’t know I had a drinking problem. Well, I don’t, but I might develop one if I spend any more time in Rome. Just the house red at a corner bistro is delightful.
I have to give a presentation at a conference in Germany next week, and I asked Andrea if she wanted to come along. She was up for a holiday, but since the weather in Germany this time of year is less than desirable, we decided to make a side trip to Italy.
I travel a lot and thus have a lot of “points” with various frequent client programs, so we managed to score 5 night in Rome for free. This is the view from our room at the hotel:
To get here we had to fly from RDU to Chicago, and of course the plane experienced some mechanical difficulties so our two hour layover at O’Hare turned into 15 minutes. The flight was not pleasant (neither of us managed to sleep) but both of us made it and so did our luggage. I get to look forward to the same deal on the way back, but I managed to send Andrea home in Business class.
Once we got in our room we slept for a few hours, grabbed dinner, and now it is time for another nap.
