Sortova Farm was not exactly the place we would have built for ourselves. Don’t get me wrong, we like living there, it’s just that it’s a little bigger than we’re comfortable with. Unfortunately, when you are looking for a convenient, affordable horse farm you don’t have too many choices.
In fact, we had several empty rooms for many years. They are starting to fill up, but one room that always gave us problems was the living room. We didn’t think we’d use a formal living room, so what could we use the space for? We decided on an entertainment center.
Andrea found this bar in a thrift store in Asheboro (my home town). This was a couple of months ago, and she suggested that we stick it in the living room. I thought it might be too big, so we didn’t do anything about it.
Last weekend we ended up visiting my folks, and we decided to stop back by the store. It was still there. I fell in love with it, so we took measurements to see if it would really work in our house.
It did, so we made the owner a low ball offer, expecting him to turn us down. He didn’t, so late last Sunday we had to round up some strong help, hook up the horse trailer (to move it) and drive to Asheboro.
I think it makes a fine entertainment center, now all we need is some bar stools and some good friends to come visit.
