Today’s Tom Sawyer

For over three years now, Andrea and I have been talking about painting the fence on the farm.

In the words of Steven Wright “It’s a small world, but I wouldn’t want to have to paint it.” I really don’t want to paint the small part of the world that lives outside my window.

But we did hit a milestone this weekend. A small section of fence, comprising three eight foot sections, is finally done. I believe Andrea had scraped this thing over three years ago.

Now we need to finish the rest of the fencing. I’ll be happy if we get the oldest part of the fence, the part that is along the road, completed this summer. The process is to first spray the fence with a Clorox solution and then follow behind it with a powerwasher to get all of the loose paint off (and mold, and bird poop, etc.)

Shouldn’t take too long, right? After all, we have three sections done …

… only 147 more to go.
