I’ve been away from home a lot lately. I’m writing this from the Yudof Hall Club Room at the University of Minnesota where I’m attending our annual OpenNMS Developer’s Conference “Dev-Jam”.
Last weekend I was down in Spartanburg, South Carolina, speaking at the SouthEast LinuxFest (SELF) conference. Since it was relatively close, I took the Benz and drove. On the way back I was surprised to see my fuel economy had hit 37 mpg:
(note that it was rather difficult to drive and try to take that picture at the same time).
Shortly after I took that picture, the speed limit went up to 70 mph and my fuel economy dropped a little. It could also have been due to it getting a little hotter, but by the time I got home I was still at 36.8 mpg:
