Unfortunately, the subject of this post isn’t a reference to the movie.
When I got out of bed on Friday I was so dizzy I had to sit back down. Since then it seems that I am suffering from a mild case of vertigo. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and they seem to think it’s an issue with my inner ear, but all they prescribed was Mucenex, but it doesn’t seem to be helping.
I’m slowly learning how to manage despite it, but it did put a damper on our annual trip to the mountains. For 20 years we’ve been going up to Snake Mountain (just north of Boone, North Carolina) to camp for a few days without running water or electricity or … and this is my favorite part … Internet access.
I did manage a hike across the ridge with Kali. It’s about 1300 vertical feet and about three miles or so. It started raining while I was up there, but most of it was below where I was sitting. The only problem was that I had to hike through a lot of wet brush, and while my boots were water resistant my sock weren’t – so my pants got wet, my socks got wet and I ended up with wet feet.
